Today I had my tutorial with my tutor, we really only looked at the mock film I did and how to improve it. While looking at the interviews that I had done, I realised that I only got the perspective of two teenagers but I want to get different perspectives.

This is the advice I got from my tutor on how to edit the mock film:

My tutor really liked the audio waveform that I had and said that I should keep the sound wave, and layering the video with some of the key words spelt out, and perhaps images from their memories. Therefore, it would be like word association, sort of like subliminal advertising (like selection), and I should write down the things that come out to you. She suggested that I develop visualisation with images I find or things the interviewees choose. Working with that and identity, and perhaps animate text, moving with the phrase using Adobe After Effects. Perhaps link the recordings to the presentation (display) that I did and have myself moving the images around.

Some things to look at:

The Listening Project, BBC Radio 4, radio programme in association with the British Library (check out their archives), give an idea of how to visualise the audio

My tutor said I could play with and explore the images as cards like the Alec Soth video also similar to the video I did where I looked at the memory box, and think about different memories relating to the same object. Record a video looking at random object, send it to people and ask them about what they associate with the objects (they can lie). So the same film but from different perspectives.

Maybe explore John Cage (happenstance) and play with the thing of chance. Testing and exploring with the things I have got.
