Monday 12th April 2021

Today marked the continuation of blended learning, the end of the Easter break and the last term left of school. The meeting was held in order to tell us the plan for this term and what's going on now. Every Monday until the end of the project there will be meetings just like that one. We were also put into three groups for the day we have to come in to school, so every Tuesday I will have studio sessions with my group. They are compulsory. There are only 5 weeks left and this week I need to write my halfway evaluation.

We were advised to continue testing and exploring this week and next week and so I am planning on having the interviews these two weeks. The interviews are this week as opposed to last week because the people I had asked were busy then and this was the time we could get together. Looking at the interview questions that I have written, I am going to use that to help me write my storyboard, instead of doing it in order of interview, I should interpolate them to show the journey, towards identity. Since it's the pandemic time, to reduce contact with people, most of the interviews will be conducted online on Zoom while the in-person ones will be of my family members and I think the mock film that I am going to create will only feature the in person filming. The reason why I chose to use Zoom (as opposed to Skype, Discord, Teams...) is because you can choose custom backgrounds easily and I want the interviewees to be able to pick an image that represents them, you can record in it so I don't need to use a separate software, it's free (though only for the first 40 minutes), it has better quality than others and I think it is quite accessible.

I signed up for the greenscreen session next week, I think it would be very interesting to go to. It is something I don't know a lot about and was planning on incorporating into my final project until my idea changed. I was also planning to sign up for the after effects session this week so that I could get to know more about after effects and could improve my editing skills but the session this week has to do with animation which I am not too interested in, however there are other workshops that I could look at. In my project proposal I had "Watch tutorial videos for greenscreen and Adobe Cloud, Experiment with Adobe Cloud " But now I can also go to the in-person tutorials.

I have done the storyboard but I think I still need to work at it. I took a picture of it but it's not very clear. It is in pencil so I can easily make corrections but that makes it hard to see in the image.

Although it is not too detailed I think it provides a good enough outline of how I want the film to go. It is very different from general film storyboards that I have seen because it does not have a lot of picture, this is because I am unable to draw so I can only use stick figures but I think it still makes the ideas clear. It also does not talk about film angles an that is because seeing as it is a Zoom meeting, the angles can't be changed or played with.
