Monday 15th March 2021
We only have one week left to near-perfect our project proposals. We will soon be getting email feedback from out tutors on the project proposal draft submission from last Friday. I know I have a lot to work on and I think that I need to be more detailed in talking about everything I do to do with the project because I think that write now I am being quite vague.
The new form we got today is supposed to encourage you to write a well considered proposal. Later on today, there will be a second meeting in different groups because it isn't specialism specific, it is course specific. And then on Tuesday there will be a meeting with course leader about assessment criteria and there will be another meeting on Thursday.
Things to do this week:
Finishing draft of project proposal
Research development response
Clarify materials and processes
Finishing section 3
Consider what you will be evaluating against
Action plan/timetable
Bibliography
Which reminds me that I watched this interesting live Twitch podcast recently.
There was a lot of talk about educating and identity but here is a little clip.
I also need to relook at the example of project proposals because they have been edited to be more helpful by having questions that we may not have thought to as ourselves and write about including descriptive explanations and contextual things.

A way of evaluating could be comparing and contrasting how I have changed and evolved during the project by comparing and contrasting mood boards/mind maps I made near the beginning of the project and near the end of the project. The things you put in your evaluation and section one can help you to fill in your action plan and timetable.
I need to really start responding to the research that I did.
How to respond to research:
Think about how you and the practitioners differ and relate, perhaps create similar images to theirs or one of your own with the same theme, with the music perhaps write a song or poem about your identity.
By the way, unless specifically stated, all writings and thoughts are my own, unless I had forgotten to specify which can happen.
Also, the contextual essay deadline has been moved from next Monday to being next Thursday which is cool because the project proposal was also supposed to be submitted then.
Second meeting:
I did not talk about it but to help with writing my project proposal I looked at the 3 examples for CMPT and I looked specifically at section 2 and section 3 because those are the ones I felt I needed the most guidance in. I looked back at all my the help sheets and took information from them to help write things and for the action plan and timetable I looked at the two timetables to help me write my own also using the plan in my head that I had.
We looked at a project proposal and attempted to grade it looking at the evidence given.
"Explain why you are interested in the artist and how it relates to your project, show that you are able to use practical skills" - some learning outcomes
Looking and grading someone else's work against the criteria is really useful for us to see how we will be graded and how we can get closer to being on top of the grading and working towards the higher marks. It gives us "critical awareness".
Something that I didn't notice before is that a lot of things are graded using/with the help of the project proposal (context, research, planning and production, practical skills and presentation).
I think I will use the questions in this new example project proposal to redo my own proposal.
I think the task was quite challenging because I really had to think but it was quite rewarding.
