I did some research on memento to help get me into the mindset and start having proper ideas form the project. What I looked at is detailed below with added thought and short explorations from me. It may not make sense to others but it does to me. The researched information is in quotation marks.
"Memento an object kept as a reminder of a person or event."
I decided to look and think about the future as opposed to the past or the present. I think it is more interesting to imagine.
"Identity the fact of being who or what a person or thing is."
What is identity and how do we decide what that is for us? How will they do this in future? "A digital identity is information on an entity used by computer systems to represent an external agent. That agent may be a person, organisation, application, or device. ISO/IEC 24760-1 defines identity as "set of attributes related to an entity". "

"The digital realm is embedded in many people’s everyday lives. Digital television, mobile technology with constant internet access, GPS and high-quality audio and video technologies have transformed social media platforms and practices. Apps and websites digitally link pre-internet media such as magazines, interviews are conducted with digital recorders, and reading groups held on Skype. Expanding ‘smart’ technology connects our material and embodied world to the internet, from fridges to heart-rate monitors. We are also interested in what online communication can do to ‘traditional’ methods, especially in terms of space and time. The ability to conduct research interviews over Skype is not just a convenience but can facilitate important shifts in communication. Digital media has also intensified a life lived out through the imagined presence of the other and contributed to our surveillance culture. "

How will all this affect us and how we communicate and look back to the past in future. Instead of thinking about this in reality and how it might actually work, I want to just imagine and maybe let my imagination run free.
"Artefact an object made by a human being, typically one of cultural or historical interest."
Having a poignant artefact that would be the centre of the whole film would be interesting. Looking at narrative, storytelling and folklore would also be interesting.
"Electronic word-of-mouth communication (eWOM) is any positive or negative statement made by potential, actual or former customers about a product or company which is made available to multiples of people and/or institutions and is spread over the internet (Cheung et al, 2010). "

"Oral tradition is information passed down through the generations by word of mouth that is not written down. This includes historical and cultural traditions, literature and law."

"A memoir (French: mémoire: memoria, meaning memory or reminiscence) is any nonfiction narrative writing based in the author's personal memories. The assertions made in the work are thus understood to be factual. While memoir has historically been defined as a subcategory of biography or autobiography since the late 20th century, the genre is differentiated in form, presenting a narrowed focus. A biography or autobiography tells the story "of a life", while a memoir often tells the story of a particular event or time, such as touchstone moments and turning points from the author's life."

I might incorporate a memoir into the film.
"Since the beginnings of globalisation, interconnectedness between peoples of different cultures, backgrounds, ideologies and morals have exchanged and melded together altering thereafter thinking. The depletion of culture and rituals be seen from past stories and customs such as removing shoes before entering a house, because the house is seen as pure, and the outdoor world is unclean. Relating to a spiritual way of thinking, Namahage, or gods dressed as demons, descend down from the mountains and terrorise families and children. They burst into homes yelling for the children to be judged and if a child were to be lazy or did not listen to their parents, they would be taken away. These traditions are all but disappearing, because the cultural practicality of the western society either depletes or assimilates its own ideals and culture. The introduction of technology, the reducing population, the lack of interest or perceived importance, or the lack of practicality tradition has today are all pushing factors disintegrating the Japanese culture and many other passive cultures today. Globally, internalisation has led to the loss of culture and traditions, because the economic market supports that of the western market for its popularised economic value. Representations of media in television and advertisements show a perceived desire to be more like the western social standard. "

Thinking about this in practicality and stuff like that, watching movies like Memento and things like that would be helpful, it wouldn’t be something that I would want to do because I don’t like watching movies, but it might be useful research. Seeing how others portray stuff in their films.
Things I have to consider and have to make and create :
VISUAL RESEARCH/CONTEXTUAL RESEARCH
MOOD SHEETS
STORY BOARDING
SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT
WORKING WITH TRIPODS
TEST FILMS/CAMERA TRIALS
CINEMATOGRAPHY/FILMING
SOUND RECORDING AND EDITING
Movies and such to consider watching, researching and learning from :
Christopher Nolan Memento 2000
Bjork Vulnecular VR
Wachowskis The Matrix 1999
Ridley Scott Blade Runner 1982
Ron Howard Da Vinci Code 2006
Thinking about all of this, I made a mood board to try and help me collate all my ideas and try and get a true direction.

It didn't really do much but it is still important to make.
