Keepsake/Memory Box

Firstly I am with memory boxes/keepsake boxes. What is the definition, what are they used for?

"A keepsake box or memory box, typically made from wood, is used for storing mementos of a special time, event or person. They are often created or purchased to mark life's major events like a christening, wedding, birthday, or First Holy Communion. They may also be given for sad occasions of bereavement, such as the stillbirth of a child, when a keepsake/memory box helps with the grieving process. This sort of a keepsake box may be personalised with a person's name, design or picture."

I feel like in the future they may not used, at least in the way they are now. In order to conserve forests and such, they would no longer be made with wood but what where will thing be kept in then?

The Time Machine, H . G . Wells

You can find the free e-book online interestingly enough, I think when I have time I will spend time reading the whole thing but for now I will just read summaries and other such stuff.

"Wells advanced his social and political ideas in this narrative of a nameless Time Traveller who is hurtled into the year 802,701 by his elaborate ivory, crystal, and brass contraption. The novel is a class fable, as well as a scientific parable, in which the two societies of Wells’ own period (the upper classes and the “lower orders”) are recast as equally, though differently, “degenerate” beings."

I think it's a lot further into the future than I was envisioning but the scientific-type fable was something I was aspiring to go for but I don't really know how to do it.

The Time Capsule, 2018

"High school friends reunite to dig up their time capsule. When they open it, they make a pact to re-create all of their best high school moments. Little do they realize the capsule can heal broken hearts and inspire new relationships." That's all I could find about it.

I think it's a really nice concept and it shows the power that these things can hold, which is why I think it would be cool to make a 'film' about it.

Back to the Future, 1985

I am aware that Wikipedia is not the most reputable source however it has the most information and I like it.

"Set in 1985, the story follows Marty McFly, a teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time-traveling DeLorean automobile built by his eccentric scientist friend Doctor Emmett Brown. Trapped in the past, Marty inadvertently prevents his future parents' meeting—threatening his very existence—and is forced to reconcile the pair and somehow return to the future.

The outline of Back to the Future originated in 1980 after Gale found his father's school yearbook; he wondered if he and his father would have been friends as youths. Gale and Zemeckis realized that time travel could answer the question."

I really like the concept of the film and I think it would be nice to watch but still, as I haven't watched it, I guess I don't really know how it relates to my idea. However, anything can actually relate to anything, camera angles and colour schemes for example but I want to go with the flow on that aspect and not really but too much thought into it which I seems like a bad idea but I am interested in what the outcome will be that way.

2001: A Space Odyssey

"Kubrick’s drive to show the entire arc of human life (“from ape to angel,” as Kael dismissively put it) meant that he was making a special-effects movie of radical scope and ambition. But in his initial letter to Clarke, Kubrick began with the modest-sounding goal of making “the proverbial ‘really good’ science-fiction movie.” Kubrick wanted his film to explore “the reasons for believing in the existence of intelligent extra-terrestrial life,” and what it would mean if we discovered it."
