Today I did the filming side to my project. Filming went by quite quickly since it was and advert style approach that I wanted to go for, but I am not sure whether the angles were right or if I got enough material. It doesn't really matter too much because the main and most important parts are the editing and the voice overs. Editing will begin soon but a majority of the voice overs have already been recorded and edited but I still have more to do. The camera died during filming so that stunted progress a bit but it was alright in the end. I also had to use a tripod which I hadn't thought I needed but when the props were set up, I realised it would be a lot better and more stable to use a tripod.

The premise of the video is healthy living, the video shows some things that "scientists recommend people should consider", while there are no scientists, the objects shown are good things to get into. I don't really want to explain everything about the video before it comes out because I don't want it to ruin the experiment. If people go into the video knowing what should happen then it could make it less likely or more likely to happen and would produce bias in the results. Though I will not be collecting the results, I still want the experiment to be pure and as controlled as possible. In an idealistic world (if the editing and filming was any good), the video could be interactive and at the end people could answer whether they were affected by the video or not but it isn't the most important part of the video. The video is meant to be reflective and make people think about how things may be influencing them and they don't know about it. Seeing as it is advert style, it is going to be very short, maybe around 30 seconds, but I will see when I have finished editing it.

Below you will find a picture of the set up:

The objects in the tin are the props, and the laptop beside it is what I was using to look at my storyboard and research to see what type of things I need to include in filming. This isn't what the original image looked like, I edited it.
