In this post I want to talk about the some of the specifics of the editing of the mock film that I did as well as some other related things.

I edited mock film part 2 first by reducing the maximum height because I noticed that the audio waveforms were often off of the page so I reduced it from 5000 to around 3000 which helped by a lot. A lot of times during this project I asked for and received great advice and ideas from my family, friends and tutors. One idea that my tutor gave me and a friend added onto that I used when re-editing the mock films was to incorporate images and quotes that come from the interviews as sort of visual representations of things that are going on (especially since the mock films are presented as audio only). The first thing I did with the films was to listen to both of them with my sister (one of the interviewees) and we separately wrote words that we thought of as important and wanted to highlight. This was so that the end result would be less biased, I them looked over what we both wrote and chose the things that we both wrote down in order to highlight them, this was so that I would only choose words that are more relatable (at least that was my intention). I then got the images that I wanted the audience to see from the internet. For both the films I chose at least one image that is personal to the interviewee. While trying to edit the film I forgot how to do transitions with text and so I started to look at a tutorial but before it started I remembered. Adobe Premiere Pro was really not working properly at first and I was wondering why then I remembered the over 20 notifications I had gotten the past week that had told me that there were updates available. For some reason I got 4 notifications a day but I still decided not to update the Adobe software and so I met this problem. I had to update it which took exactly 30 minutes. After updating the software, I realised the project still wasn't working so I started a new project and that one was working fine. The tutorial I was going to use was Quick Text Animation Tutorial in Premiere Pro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iOTIhY9IOQ&t=6s

Here are the images that I used for part 1:

Here are the ones for part 2:

I tried to look for high quality pictures but it wasn't really easy. Maybe I shouldn't have blurred the images or I should have been more precise when doing it (because it is messy) but I wanted to try and protect the identities of the people. Next time I will be more careful.

It was only recently that I remembered that I needed to source music to use for the film so I have been looking on Youtube Audio Library for ambient, cinematic and inspirational happy music to try and use for the film. I have found some that I think would go well but I will have to see when the film is done. I want to have options so I have 4 to choose from.

Thinking about displaying my work, I think that just projecting the film (perhaps having it project on top of the pictures from the last presentation) in a dark room will be what I want it to be. I want there to be little distraction so that people can really concentrate on what the interviewees are saying. I want it to be quite simplistic.

Anyway, the reedited mock films are below.
